What is it?
childrenthinking was set up by practising teachers in order to provide support and training in the area of Philosophy with Children. It coordinates a range of courses and systems of mentoring and support for teachers and students.
What does it do?
childrenthinking provides a variety of support:
Training for individuals and school in PWC.
Coordinates a mentoring system for teachers new to PWC.
Runs a non profit-making forum for teachers of PWC that meets regularly, provides information on conferences, courses and training, and shares practice through an interactive website.
Where did it start?
In 2001 Maria Cornish and Tim Taylor of Tuckswood First School in Norwich, UK set up childrenthinking and started offering training to schools.
In 2002 Maria left Tuckswood and Tim left childrenthinking. On joining the staff at Chapel Break First School in Norwich, Sara Stanley joined Maria to continue and expand the work of the company.
