Forum Aims
"He (older brother of child doing PWC) would love to study it…and feels that it should be part of everyone's school curriculum. He said this only today as he is choosing his GCSE options." - Parent
The Teachers' Philosophy Forum is a non profit-making group made up of teachers practising Philosophy with Children. We meet each half-term to discuss practice and share ideas. The childrenthinking forum is a non profit-making group made up of teachers practising Philosophy with Children.

In addition we liaise between teachers, providing opportunities for observing good practice and on-going support for teachers with a range of experience.

If you would like to join the Teachers' Philosophy Forum free of charge, contact us. Of course you are free to view any of the site regardless of whether you are a member and we hope that you will join in discussions on the Discussion Board (includes help pages to get you started!).

The Aims of the Teachers' Philosophy Forum are:

  • To compile a record of those teachers/schools who are currently doing Philosophy with Children (PWC).
  • To set up a group of teachers practising PWC that will meet regularly to support each other and discuss practise.
  • To provide training, mentoring and support for teachers starting PWC.
  • To liaise with SAPERE.
  • To be a centre of contact and information concerning national and international courses, lectures, conferences and research in the area of PWC.

Our Discussion Board enables teachers to share ideas and ask questions about practice.

Our regularly updated News page has news of training, conferences, SAPERE events and other useful information in this field.
