I am a full-time teacher at Chapel Break First School in Norwich. I did a degree in Theatre at Dartington College of Arts in Devon and my PGCE at the University of the West of England in Bristol.
I came across Philosophy with Children (PWC) 9 years ago during my time at Tuckswood First School in Norwich. I was introduced to PWC by Sue Eagle (Head teacher of Tuckswood) and later trained with Karin Murris.
I have trained with SAPERE (Society for the Advancement of Philosophical Enquiry and Reflection in Education) attending the Levels 1, 2 and 3 courses. Since 2000 I have been training teachers and students in Philosophy with Children alongside my full-time work as a classteacher.
I am convinced that PWC has a profound effect on children’s ability to reflect, reason and think creatively. My passion for this work has led to personal research in the areas of PWC, drama, imagination and emotional literacy.
